3. Conclusion


Based on the interviews conducted, the other data collected around the Excellent Leader project and the subsequent analysis, the following preliminary conclusions can be drawn:

  • The Outstanding Middle Managers have a common strategy (macro strategy) for WHAT they do when they practice excellent leadership. The shared strategy, which we call the PCB model, consists of the following seven elements:

The seven elements are implemented as iterative processes, simultaneously or separately, linked to each management task where applicable.

  • Excellent Middle Managers have individual strategies (individual micro-strategies) for HOW they implement the model based on their unique leadership profile and the context of each leadership task, taking into account the personality profile of the people involved and the different forms of situational leadership.
  • Excellent Middle Managers utilise all elements of their sensory systems in their daily leadership practice.
